Sergio will demonstrate dancers in oils on Saturday. Sergio studied art and design in Joubert Park College, and received his N6 certificate in Fine Arts. 1989. His first mentor was Douw van Heerden, who specialises in portraiture and figurative work. He then studied further with the late Walter Rose, who studied at the Royal academy of Arts in London and who lectured at Wits University for many years, majoring in portraiture.

For six years Sergio painted murals for a company called Wallscapes. In 2006 he was commissioned paint murals for a resort in Saudi Arabia for the Saudi Prince.

Sergio now specialises in oils, pastels and charcoal. He is inspired by the late Richard Schmid, David Leffel and Robert Liberace. He has been teaching Fine Arts for 20 years and will use oils in his demonstration of dancers on Saturday.
