In the 1st Painting Hillary shows the beginning stages of the paining in acrylics The ‘map’ of the face for the painting. Hillary continues by adding darker paint to the eyes. More darks are added. More paint is added to the coat and darker areas are added. A magenta wash is added to the background allowing the drips to run. Hillary adds white marks using her roller brush to create more texture. Highlights and detail are now added to the face. More highlights are added in different colours. An almost complete demo painting. One of Hillary’s complete paintings In the second demo, the mans face is drawn out in blue and some shadows added. Contrasting darks are added to the hair. Highlights in the face are added. Hillary again works into the background with Magenta. Some skin tone colours are added to the face. Hillary again applies paint randomly using her roller. More details has been aded to the face and the jacket blocked in. More detail is applied as the layers are built up. More layers are applied to the face. The completed painting.
