Mike Duly demonstrated a ranch house in watercolours to us in our final 2023 demo.

He hails from Johannesburg and matriculated from at St Benedict’s College in Bedfordview before studying architecture at Wits for a few years.

Although Mike has always enjoyed art and music, he only became passionate about watercolours at age 35, and has painted exclusively in that medium ever since. He was an active member of Paint and Artists in the Sun for many years and has exhibited at their monthly and annual exhibitions regularly. He has also been commissioned to produce a series of watercolour paintings for corporate calendars.

He is largely self taught, but cites Richard Rennie as one of his main influences. South African landscapes, seascapes, dilapidated farm buildings and shipwrecks feature in many of his paintings.
