Selma Hudson
Selma started painting in 1990 after she joined a friend, who was advised to take up art as therapy after a traumatic incident. They painted under Peter Millard, a wonderful teacher and mentor, and she continues to paint.
She is addicted to art museums and has visited many internationally over the years.
She has done many workshops in acrylics and oils, which are her favourite mediums, and with varied subject matter. She loves using palette knife and enjoys trying other items like sponges and lately has discovered bubble wrap and is using it for her especially roses. She has sold many of her flower paintings.
She is vice chairperson of the Vereeniging Art Group which has been in existence for 50 years. They display and sell their art at the Midvaal Hospital. She is also an active member of the Vereeniging Urban Sketchers.
Selma paints from her heart and her motto is ‘just do it’.
