Dalila is an award-winning artist and workshop facilitator as well as a graduate of various tertiary institutions with degrees and diplomas in Architecture, Interiors and Art History.

In 2004 she resolved to turn her artistic passion into a professional endeavour. Since then, she has developed a unique style of combining paper, texture, text and other materials with paint to produce multi-layered artworks.
She also regularly conducts workshops, assisting other artists to tap into their personal artistic philosophies. Although experienced with most media, she counts oils and mixed media as her favourites.
She gravitates towards portraiture as subject matter but is equally adept at interpreting any other that inspires her, including abstraction and non-representational work!
She has participated in over 40 group exhibitions, been published in the South African Artist magazine various times and won several awards. In 2020 one of her artworks was purchased by the City of Johannesburg to hang in the permanent exhibition at the Worker’s Museum in Newtown, Johannesburg. Her works also form part of both corporate and private collections both locally and abroad.
Please join us at the Paint and Palette Group at the Edenvale Community Centre (corner of Van Riebeeck Avenue and 2nd Street) at 13h30 for 14h00. Entrance fee is R100 for visitors and R30 for members.

Mixed Media Workshop
Following the demonstration on the 18th January, Dalila will host a mixed media workshop on the 29th March 2025. This will incorporate various techniques to create landscapes with different papers, inks and objects: Some items that will be used include: Japanese momigami paper, stained rice paper, dried clay leaves, cut-outs, etc. She will demonstrate the use of air hardening clay to show how the items for the painting and collaging are created. Dalila will provide dried clay items for participants to use, as the process is quite time consuming and the clay will not have time to dry at the workshop. Members will then create their own landscapes by stamping, collaging and assembling the items. To book a place contact Danuta and pay R500 (for members only).
A list of materials to bring will be supplied nearer the day.
